Philadelphia storms do damage in two stages. The wind or the tree opens the building. Then the rain that follows, sometimes for days, soaks everything under the opening. The second stage is usually the bigger loss, and it is the one you can still limit.

Questions we get on this work
Does homeowners insurance cover storm damage?
Wind damage and the resulting rain intrusion are commonly covered under standard homeowner policies. Surface flooding from rising water usually is not; that needs flood coverage. We document the wind or tree damage and the interior water damage separately so your adjuster can see the cause clearly. Coverage decisions are your insurer's.
Should I tarp my roof myself?
Stay off a wet or damaged roof. Falls are the most common serious injury after a storm, and a badly secured tarp can do more damage in the next wind. Put a bucket under the drip, move contents, take photos from the ground, and call. Tarping is part of our emergency response.
How do I document storm damage for a claim?
Photograph the exterior damage from the ground, every interior spot where water is coming in, and any damaged contents, with timestamps. Keep receipts for anything you buy to limit damage. Note the date and time of the storm. Onyx adds moisture readings, thermal images and a written scope to that record.
Can you repair the roof or only tarp it?
We tarp immediately and rebuild the damaged section as part of the restoration. If the storm damage points to a full roof replacement, we tell you that and discuss options during the estimate.
What if water is already in the ceiling?
Call before the ceiling comes down on its own. We relieve trapped water, remove the saturated drywall and insulation, and dry the cavity. A ceiling that stays wet for days becomes a mold job.
Do you handle commercial storm damage?
Yes. Flat commercial roofs with rooftop HVAC units, storefront glass and warehouse openings. We plan around your operating hours where it is safe.
